Speaking of rats biting. I had a lady rat when I was younger. My first rat. Someones her feet would get stuck in parts of her cage since she wasn't big enough yet for it. This happened one time when I was at school so my Mom had to freak out and try to help her. The rat bit her but it was totally just out of fear and pain from her stuck foot. But once she got free she just snuggled right up against Mom and licked her hand where she bit. It was just a nice sweet "I am so sorry" moment between them.

If we could just find a way to make domestic rats live longer. They're such loving critters but such a short life span :( I miss the two rats I had recently. It breaks my heart seeing pet rats when they get too old and you just know they're going to be gone in a day or so.

I really want rats and I have wanted them for so long. My dad had a bunch when he was my age but my mom doesn't want one. My mom had ferrets and still thinks rats are disgusting. I'm OBSESSED with rats and I'm so upset that I can't get one :( I researched them and everything. I even made a slideshow on rats. XD

"she's not fat 'yet' " It's just fun knowing sometimes when a rats gonna end up a fatty. My two boys were such fatsos and I loved them.

The two new babes are adorable. Charli has the most perfect saddle (back stripe) on a hooded rat that I've ever seen. So symmetrical!

My first group, 3 boys who were litter-mates had very diverse personalities. The best example of this is the morning I woke up with something furry under my hand that suddenly ran off under the covers. Living next to woods I assumed it was a mouse until I saw Guildenstern standing on top of their cage next to the open trap door. Being the "good boy" he jumped back into the cage the second he realized I'd spotted him. Opening the cage I found Rosencrantz, the "chicken" of the group, not only still in the cage, but hiding in the wooden house in the corner of the cage, freaked out because the cage was open when it wasn't supposed to be! That left Horatio, the "adventuresome" one. I assume hes the one that figured out the latch on the trap door while I was asleep. Upon finding him hiding in my closet he made a run for it before realizing he was running into a corner. At that point he stopped and looked up at me with an "okay, I give up" look. I loved those guys and all the rats I've owned since. Sadly I've become so allergic to them I can no longer have rats as pets. Depressing as they really are wonderful pets.

I have seven female rats and they're all such a handful! Always getting into trouble!! (And yet I'd never change them for the world! :P) I love how each rat has their own little individual quirks and personalities. Your babies are adorable. ♥
