Welcome back to another video guys. So this one is a little different, it’s a hairstyling video. I did do a big chop several weeks ago and in this video I will be showing you guys a simple style I like to do on my 4B/4C hair that lasts for a WEEK.
Some quick info about my hair type:
It is a high porosity hair type, meaning when I take a strand of my hair, drop it in a cup of water , it typically sinks to the bottom right away.
So what does that mean you may ask? Well it basically means that my hair can take moisture, it just has a hard time retaining it.
Some characteristics of high porous hair includes
- Looks and feels dull and dry
- Generally damaged and over processed with torn cuticles (but not always)
- Tangles easily because the cuticles get caught on each other
- Hair dries quickly
- Tends to be frizzy
So when it comes to caring for my highly porous hair, the goals include reducing and reversing damage to the cuticle, and also helping my hair retain moisture.
To help nourish, moisturize, and repair my highly porous hair, I use products that include “heavier” ingredients like oils or butters.
That’s just a little bit of information. It’s always best to research about your hair and see what works best for caring for it. I know there’s a lot of informative videos on this platform that you can utilize.
.
PRODUCTS
- Originals by Africa's Best Cholesterol Tea-tree Oil Conditioner from my local Walmart
- Camille Rose Naturals Fresh Curl
Honestly, I’ve tried many products but these products here have been doing me justice so I have no complaints.
