Hi I'm Jason Park a feature filmmaker who started Hypatude Productions. Today I wanted to talk to you all about how to eliminate the noise and the banding issue in the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Full Frame. It’s not 100% but helps reduce noise and banding a lot. You will need Noise prediction in post for the cleanest image.

Why are you using 3200 iso? That iso is always been too noisy on BM cameras. As always, you should be shooting high ISOs in wide DR situations like outside in broad daylight and low ISOs in dark situations. If you want your night club scene to look clean then shoot at either 200 or 1250 and light accordingly.

You can also use really fast glass. A Voigtlander f.095 for the win

if shooting in braw anyway does it matter what iso you record in as you can change it in resolve in post anyway?

Been telling people for years to stop using ISO 3200. People wanted to argue and argue but ISO 1250 is what you want to use them add lights at ISO 3200.

Stop trying😂

Some of us were smart enough to figure it out. ISO 3200 isn’t clean on any of the Pocket cameras. The full frame proved it while others kept being stubborn.

I have to say I’m disappointed with the CC. I have two of them at the moment, and if I have cover an outdoor event in full sunlight it’s really easy to manage the highlights. But in a day and age when with a $1500 camera you want to use a small kit, you instead have to light like it’s 1935! Ridiculous. The Blackmagic cloud infrastructure is interesting but not essential to my workflow so for my “Ursa” level camera (already dumped the two I had) with internal ND I’ve preordered the C400, but not quite sure what I will replace the CCs with because for social media projects I like having 3:2 for cropping verticals. I will juggle the extra lighting for now, but for commercial work in the US no one knows Blackmagic and it doesn’t make sense to fight that battle when the camera itself increases setup time to boot.
