In this video I answer the question, "How much car can I afford?" I show you how much you can afford to pay for a new or used car using the 20/4/10 rule. I focus on real world examples to help new car buyers set a budget based on their income and ability to make a down payment. Graphs are included so you can see what the car payment will be at any price point.

My channel focuses primarily on car negotiation. I recommend the following videos for car buyers asking how to buy a car and how to negotiate car price.

Your videos are so useful! I did a similar thing and took off to NZ to backpack after college. Your experience and perspective on finances are helping me navigate car buying as I prepare to relocate for a job. Thanks!

Question.
If, like my family, someone needs more than one car, do we use this rule to buy all the cars or each?

Any tips on negotiating price on a brand new Jeep Wrangler 2020? I assume that dealers aren’t as willing to come down on price since they retain they’re value so well. Thanks!
