I also had a boss that would be super enthusiastic about such offers and keep saying yes, whenever he got the chance. Let's just say the company didn't to do so well and I'm glad I managed to leave the sinking ship in time.

I once saw an artist on Twitter that was approached by an "influencer" for a commission. Instead of paying for the work, the influencer said they'll do a shout out to their X amount of followers. The artist argued back, "Cool, so you absolutely guarantee that a percentage of your followers will approach me with paid work and if they won't, then you'll pay me the difference? Hang on, I'll add rule to the contract."

The influencer freaked out, saying there's no way they can guarantee that. Shock of shocks, no deal was made.
