First Year with a Husky (8 weeks to 1 year)

I adopted Leo, my husky, when he was just 8 weeks old! Here's a few of our favorite moments while he was growing up as a puppy all the way until he's 1 year old :)

Just got a Siberian Husky last Saturday at exactly 8 weeks old. Best thing to happen in my life. I love that dog like no tomorrow. I hope Leo is doing alright!

Huskys are smarter than Other dog breeds. When i got my first husky he was 19 months old and I was home number 5! I learned that you cannot train them the same way as you do other dogs, with my first one it took me over a year to train him not to escape or run away when off lead, but it would have been alot faster if i had disregarded the usual training methods for other dogs alot sooner. After he died i got my current husky as a 9 week old puppy. This time I knew what I was doing, It took me a week to toilet train him, 2 weeks to off lead train him and he's never tried to escape home or runaway. He's now 2 and Half years old and he's undesexed male. The trick is to entertain their mind as much as exercise their body and learn that anymore than 3 repeats of anything is boring for them, but the one thing they never seem to get bored doing is playing and running. Those are your tools to get them to do what you want them too. Both of mine never tore anything up and had the full run of the house but were trained not to climb on furniture/ my bed etc.... They know exactly what you want them to do, the trick is getting them to want to please you, which is always a trade off as you also have to please them.

i suddenly miss my dog, his name is Papi and he looks just like Leo, their of the same color 😊 even though he is just half husky, he looks like pure, but smaller haha, unfortunately he died last april, and seeing Leo made me miss him even more, bc i often see husky of their color here in PH 😄 im so happy i found your channel ❤️

Either or is great. My family is an animal lovers. We just have the needs of bonding and we get to know their needs and wants. Give them all the love, care and attention to them.

I like how Leo became bigger than Bliss after 4 weeks! When Leo reunited with Bliss he was a bit smaller and then when they played fetch Leo was bigger

I have an Alaskan Malamute, as a puppy she was like a 2 year old baby but could run 15 MPH. It was recommended that I crawl on the floor to see what she could get into. Any items of value put away. I have furniture marks from the teething. It is said this is from boredom but I'm not sure about that.
