You can also watch two off road runs, including slow motion, with the two models here:

I call the featured batteries of this video GiANT and HUGE and, well, yes, everything is relative and Ovonic and other battery manufacturers of course produce even larger 3S batteries. But for me coming from a 3S 3000 mah Soft Pack as the largest 3S battery I have ever owned or tested, these two Hard Case batteries do seem gigantic! Too large for any of my cars actually!

According to Ovonic they should be perfect as single packs for the 3S Arrma RC Cars line and maybe even in series for some of the larger scale models (I have not tested any of this myself). Probably also a lot of other lines and models. But you can see the dimensions in the video (or in the link to the Ovonic store) and check your own model to see if they will actually fit. Sometimes there are some easy ways to make batteries fit, as seen in the video, but it is truely not recommended and should be avoided at all times - for obvious safety reasons.

Nevertheless, even if I misbehaved shortly, in this initial run the batteries performed perfectly! They came in perfect storage charge and charged and discharged just as perfectly. I will of course make a video immediately, as always, if I experience otherwise in the future. Would love to hear from you in the comment section, if you have had any (bad or good) experiences with the Ovonic brand. That would help us all out.

I would have loved to have been able to test these with my brand new Arrma Typhon 6S BLX v4, but the batteries are simply too large for the stock battery compartment - and I am not prepared to do any modifications on this one (for both aesthetic and safety reasons). On top of that, the wires are placed on the top of the battery which makes it hard to stack these properly and safely, even if they would fit. But again, take a look at the Ovonic store, I bet there are batteries that would fit the Arrma 6S models too.

About the nerdy 'LiPo Checker/Alarm' stuff featured briefly in the video:
I just wanted to show how it is a misconception that the cheap and handy LiPo checkers that a lot of people use, including me, measure exact voltage levels. They do not. This was brought to my attention by several other channels. So in this video I just wanted to check for myself, comparing one of my old LiPo checkers, to a new one. And yes! They showed different voltage levels as can be seen in the video. Both are cheap generic ones (don't be fooled by the nice casing the new one has). So don't trust the cheap LiPo checkers. They do not show exact measurements, for that I trust my balance charger. Usually (for me) after a balance charge, using LiPo checkers, the voltage levels of the individual LiPo cells show levels between 4.16 and 4.21 (theoretically and ideally they all should read 4.20v).

Those are great batteries I have a very similar style I run in my crawler s the way the wire leads are placed makes fitting them in the vehicle challenging at times but I do like how the leads come off I aslo use those alarms I put them in my planes to let me know if the battery is going dead early when that happens in a plane it can be very bad wow that's allot of power in the hpi✌🏻👍🏻

Hopefully you get that Arrma to test these out with. They seem to put out a lot of juice. How did the camera make out after that pretty hard hit?

Fantastic video Mikael! I love seeing you now being able to open up your rc’s in that beautiful slice of countryside you have there! You were catching some huge air there at the end, and it’s nice to see someone else breaking rc’s for a change!😂🤣 Top job my friend!👍😊

They'd do well in my ARRMA but not sure that even one would fit in my Savage XS Flux battery box....
Prices are pretty good for hard case lipo - will have to wait til Xmas though ( wife never knows what to I'm preparing an extensive but not exhaustive list 😆😆).

They are some big ass batteries you got there. Got an awesome deal some Turnigy Graphene 2s 90c batteries last year. They really kick ass much more power than the cheapo 3s packs I had. But the cheapos died so pretty much just got 2s left now!

looks like these huge batteries do well. any more air time and you should look into something with wings on it! although in my experience there is not much difference in the landing behavior :)

Zip tying the battery to the RC is a bad idea.

Wow man those batteries are huge!! Too big for my Kraton to run them together but I think one of those in the Vkar Bison would be a blast if it could stay together long enough..lol Think it's time for you to look into some proline tires for the HPI and a wheelie bar. Is there any aftermarket dogbones available for the DBX?? Well wish you luck with the repairs bro? Thanks for showing those cool huge batteries going to have to get one soon ☺️
