Honestly most Arch users aren't like this. "i use arch btw" is just a dumb meme and most people just use it ironically.
I use Arch because I like learning how GNU/Linux works, but that's my personal decision and I don't expect everyone to do this.

I don't even think it's "elite" or exceptionally difficult. it just takes slightly more of your time to set up, so by no means should Arch users ever be acting like they're all geniuses (some of us are just average but read instructions well i guess). The realest Linux gurus are out there running Gentoo and Linux from Scratch lmao

Honestly for new users considering Ubuntu and just want a tool that does it's job well, give Pop!_OS or Manjaro a try. It's like buying an Accord instead of a Corolla, still a reliable vehicle but has some extra nice-to-have features. You're fine either way!

I don't use Arch because Arch is literally a toy. It's not meant to do real work on. I use Fedora because it's stable, I get all the latest tech, and I don't need to spend all my day getting it set up and installing it. With Fedora, I install and I can start coding, drawing, and doing work right away.

Long time Arch user, switched to Fedora, and now Nobara, it’s been working solid AF. I only use Debian on the raspberry pi, and in VM’s.
