“The audience used to be up for new ideas every weekend.” I don’t love everything M. Night makes, but I love that he gets to keep making movies that are unapologetically his own in an industry that so rarely gives us original stories.

Although he’s inconsistent, M Nights high highs are unbelievable. Will always give him credit for writing original screenplay and directing original movies, even with the misses.

I don’t care about the flops. There’s not many directors around quite like him. I’ll watch anything he puts out. Cause when he hits he HITS. Keep making original stories please, we need it now more than ever.

Not every movie is a winner, but M. Night is up there with the biggest risk takers when it comes to writer/directors in Hollywood, and he definitely deserves kudos for that.

The image of him skipping down the street after Bruce Willis told him he's got the juice is so wholesome and also so funny

I love that after all these years he still won’t spoil the 6th sense!

Still blows my mind that McAvoy didn’t win an Oscar for Split. Absolutely criminal, IMO!

Dude's career has been a rollercoaster of quality, but Signs and Unbreakable are still two of the best movies of this century I think. Props to Shyamalan.

12:24 this MFer plot twisted the freaking studio that funded his movie. I love him.

I saw The Sixth Sense at the cinema 11 days ago and it still hits today. It always will. The acting, the sound, the direction, the costume, the camera, the sets - everything. Perfect.

I always liked The Village although most hated it.

I'm sure most knew he hit a rough patch with After Earth and The Last Airbender, but I didn't think he was actually at the point of having to personally fund a movie. It can be easy to pick on the low points in his movies, but I give him all the credit for trying to release original scripts in an era where we are addicted to sequels, reboots and turning books/manga/shows into movies

Tarantino & M. Night are the only two that I can think of that just say “f it. Whatever idea I have, we’re doing.” 😂

People in the comments being like " why doesn't he talk about the bad ones he's done " as if that's not how this thing works with every guest they have. I'm pretty sure he's had plenty of feedback for The Last Airbender and other duds. Dude's made some incredible movies.
