Is that a simmer or a boil? Simmering water has slow, gentle, small bubbles. Boiling water has rolling, steady, more forceful bubbles — just remember, a watched pot never boils.

It would also be nice to see a version of the two obscured by food you would typically boil and simmer.

My husband says there is no difference between a high boil and a medium boil for cooking food - as far as time to cook it. Once the water reaches boiling temperature, he says that a high boil is a waste of gas. Is this true?

Thanks for this video. If I asked a certain family member this question they would just get annoyed with me (or laugh at me). I HATE cooking. If I could afford living on my own I would literally only own a microwave, toaster and maybe a mini-oven. Health be damned. I don't like spending 90 minutes making a damn meal. Obviously simmering or boiling water doesn't take 90 minutes, but it's a part of the process of making unnecessarily elaborate meals.
