So, for anyone wondering...

1) It's not really possible to "run out" of water. That would require some sort of mass chemical reaction that would almost assuredly eliminate all life on Earth before eliminating all water (either due to life being affected as well, or due to the environment being annihilated by the loss of one or more major oceans). _Potable_ water may be a different question, but we do have means of cleansing water. (And worst-case scenario, there are _many_ chemical substances which produce water and salts when combined, most notably hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. Generally, this sort of thing is a common reaction when acids & bases are mixed.)

2) Water being salinated doesn't mean it's unusable. It just means it needs to be desalinated beforehand. There are many means of doing this, as anyone familiar with middle- and high-school wilderness survival books would know. Heck, all you need is a bucket, a plastic sheet, and a pile of rocks, if you're in the right environment. And it gets _significantly_ easier once modern technology gets involved... if push comes to shove, we can convert ocean water into safe water, unless literally the entire human race is stuck on a raft in the ocean with no land in sight.

3) And the big one: Water is _extremely_ common in space. Find a comet, you've got water. Find a planet, there's a good chance of it having water. Find an asteroid, it might have water. And you don't even need to ask about the chunks of ice floating around out there. Really, they should've been suspicious the instant they found out they "needed" to go to Europa to find water.

The water issue was just a smoke screen, the real mission was to covertly recover an alien space craft on Europa without interference.

I love sci-fi but this kind of ‘drama in space’ bores me to tears. Thanks for helping me avoiding the movie!

They have use of gravity onboard... and other technological advances, but no water salination plants on earth? Have to visit Europa? How are they to get water from Europa to Earth? It's expensive as water is heavy.

some of these sci fi movies are amazing, majik gravity in space stations. the station isnt even spinning.

Apparently. In English this movie is called 1000 Days in Space. In the U.S. it's on the PLEX app in the U.S.

Just making sure I'm hearing this right: we're planning to "import water from Jupiter's moon"? Are you f-ing serious, film? Do script writers even still use their brains? Yeesh.

You could get water from Europa...or just desalinate ocean water...lol

This reminded me of DEFCON 4 from 1985. Could you do that one sometime? It’s a bit crazy, since it was the 80s.

Movie watchers know that movies can exist in alternate or fictional universes, right? And that there is no rule book for them to have to explain that it is or explain how this earth might have changed. For example they’re out of water. We are not. Maybe Quebec will become a country before we run out of water. Just playing devils advocate — i have no watched in full yet. But I am impressed that they chose Europa and that they discovered it is salt water which is actually a weirdly recent discovery (the salt). Oh also in these other fictional universes can have different laws of physics. Welcome to storytelling, Chat.

Most realistic thing about this is quebec stating ww3 if they ever become their own country

If I didn't spend years of my life traveling in bar bands this orbiting theme would be fun.

Do you upload or have a channel on rumble? You are one of the only channels that keep me on youtube, but I tire of this ecosystem.
