When I lost my iPhone 5 in a foreign country in 2015, I found this "Find my iPhone" feature to be a total waste as the person who stole my iPhone had turned it off and I couldn't see the location of the device when I went back to my hotel and logged another device with Apple ID to track.

Lol no, cause Apple never claimed that the location will update on find my when the device is off. The findmy server relies on the device's own internet connection to update location in real time.

So if your phone is off or not connected to internet, the find my will show last location/no location/offline based on the 24 hour time frame

But good that you're atleast resolving this misconception

My iPhone 13 was stolen on August 27th 2024, then I made GD and activated my iPhone's lost mode. On 1st September I got a message, your phone is activated. When I tracked my device, it was found in Bangladesh border. Then the last location was also removed. how can I get my phone back?

Go to settings there is an option to allow find my phone if it is switch off
