Drone activity caused officials to close airspace over one of the United States’ most critical Air Force bases for almost four hours late Friday and early Saturday, according to a base spokesperson and a Notice to Airmen posted on a federal website. Bob Purtiman, chief of public affairs for the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, said that the airspace remained restricted for approximately four hours while authorities monitored the situation, CNN affiliate WHIO reported. #CNN #News

And they said it wasn’t a national security threat. If they close airspace at military base, that’s a threat

Create fear, take more civil liberties. Patriot Act 2.0.

3 dudes arrested sending up their own drones trying to figure more about the UAP than our government!

3 guys to be arrested for personal drones, yet 100's of car- like drones flying over states at Free Will. How stupid is the legal system?

Not being able to track drones is a national security failure

We aren’t all that worried about a couple of dudes that FAFO flying personal drones around an airport. It’s the fleets (sometimes as much as 50 flying together) of 20 ft drones flying as high as 6000 ft over military bases! Why are we even talking about personal drone regulations?

Wright-Patterson closed down by UFOs? How ironic.

Don't let the government flip this conversation to regulating civilian drones.

"You are flying over restricted air space... identify yourself or you will be shot down"... is a line that's only true in movies and video games 🙄😒

If they weren't ours, they'd take them down. This is an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

Really? The world's most costly defended country has no idea what's flying above its cities. What a load of nonsense

This is making the US look pretty pathetic!

Oh the irony of catching two knuckleheads with a toy and letting the real threat hang out in the sky

Nothing to see here, there are no drones, there are no hostile activities, no "nefarious acts". These are clearly satellites, stars, manned aircraft, hobby drones, etc. No issues at all for the public. The closing of a military base? Pure chance.

Maybe we need to call the Air Force and let them know the Government already declared these drones were nothing to be concerned about.

“Not a threat”

But if one crashes “call the FBI and wear hazmat suits”.
