You really need to make a video like this about diagonal building techniques. I would bookmark it and watch it everyday.

For a bit of LEGO history, the first "bracket" we really had was the 2x2 offset bracket with holes (part 3956, 1979) which is ridiculously limited and awkward compared to the modern brackets that started coming out in the early 2000s. There was also the headlight brick (part 4070, 1980), which was a common workaround piece but still pretty primitive. A little later the "space seat" came out (part 4598, 1984), a common element you could use for SNOT building in a pinch (but it was uuuugly). Finally we got the 1x4 bracket (part 2436, 1987) which was a big leap forward but 1x4 is rather clumsy and for some reason LEGO took many years to put out the other varieties. The same year we also got the rare bastard cousin of the old 3956, the 4x1 offset bracket (part 2422, 1987), just look at that weird nonsense! They put that out instead of something sensible like a 1x2 or 2x2 bracket!

As a digital builder, the stuff about build solidity is super helpful. Making mocs which would be hypothetically stable and solid appeals to me, but you're kind of flying blind when building digitally. I would love to see more advice on this, maybe in a video of its own on how to make builds secure, for people like me who don't really have the space to build physically

So helpful to know how to use which bracket where. Thanks for telling us all the measurements and giving examples.

I have this category of lego when sorting out my parts, I just sorta call them "multi-directional" because there are parts that let you build in different directions, not just stack on top of each other.

More of this please! Highlighting a type of brick and giving building techniques is very informative.

Important note: For some reason the studs on the side are raised by a tiny amount. This makes it illegal to use two same brackets, which are placed with their side studs on a plate in different orientations to build an inverter, for example

I'm in my mid 30s. I've been into Lego for 5 years till now and never have I seen such a helpful and clear video explaining brackets. I would always try to fit different brackets till they some how match. But now... Wow. I got how they work. BIG THANKS !

Love this so much. Really appreciate how you're able to teach so in-depth, and also keep it so delightful. This makes brackets much less intimidating — can't wait to practice building with them!

I feel that this series is most valuable to the LEGO community (especially those just getting started). So, YES! I would LOVE to see more showcase videos like this! They are SUPER helpful! Thank you for sharing your work with us, it is greatly appreciated and EXTREMELY beneficial to the community!

I also appreciate the way you color coordinate the elements in the examples so that it is very clear what is going on. It makes things easy to understand, leaving no questions as to what elements you are using in any one example. That's a nice touch.

SUPER HELPFUL!
I never know how to work with the awkward 1x2 plate difference brackets have... will be referencing this again and again 👍

I mainly use bracket pieces to help build LEGO Planes, as I mainly make recreations of LEGO Planes and sometimes the LEGO Planes are recreations of very small private jets, so brackets come in handy for trying to give more room for more seats while still keeping the scale small. It also helps with the side windows, too.

The way you incorporated the sponsor spot into this video was very fun and creative. The ad read was actually enjoyable to watch! (The rest of the video was great too.)

I love using brackets and I love learning these technical aspect of Lego. I knew pretty much all this info, though the stacking brics specific numbers was new, I knew about plate stacking for brackets.

I would love to see more videos that talk about the technical measurements and ways to use other lego parts. Please do loads more of these!

I think this is my favorite video of yours since the old furniture build vids. I really enjoy learning about the system design details. This could easily have been two or three videos with all of the info and tips contained. Really great stuff!

So happy to see these parts covered in a video (and a great video at that)! I use these parts and techniques all the time but had to figure it out myself, would have loved to see this video years ago haha. I hope this video can reach lots of people to show them the wonderful possibilities these parts can offer!

I have no intention of using these techniques as I don’t have spare lego pieces lying around to make anything substantial, but these element breakdown videos are so satisfying to watch
