it's mostly because they plan on releasing them as a mystery gift. The shiny galarian birds are locked but were able to be traded before they were relased.

I hope they only prevent hacked pokemon from being traded, instead of mythicals. Since they added mythicals to be traded outside of surprise or wonder trade, I was able to help some friends out when it came to events. I couldn't receive Mew and Marshadow in USUM so I never got there z-crystal

I’ve had a shiny Volcanion since Gen 6 or 7, and supposedly, it’s from an event during Volcanion’s original release year from South Korea. Has lots of info that supports typical event Pokémon and trades legally. I’ve had it in Bank, SwSh, Home, and now in Scarlet. Anyone have any corroborating info in this Pokemon? It was traded to me long long ago, as I’m not in South Korea.

This "error" exists since pokemon transporter and the reason is that these programs dont check for a shiny lock

I ended up getting a hacked shiny zorua and I was annoyed that its not leagal because it would of been my second traded shiny in S/V

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that shiny Volcanion was released in a card set? The only other Pokemon that was released shiny when it wasn’t available that gen was Celebi gold Star.

It's not a mistake it's something they did so that way when a mystery gift or code of it comes out people can trade outright. They did yhis with the galarian birds before the shinies were released

From what i see some people say its only bad if you use it in comp and can get banned but i think i have many of them in my boxxes
