That was some backyard Engineering there brother! Love it! When can I order my own (and I'm going to need the rover to go along with it... of course!) Cheers, mate!

Ive got it working, even slapped a carrier together that will go with it. Gotta get it setup for workshop still. Is all Hydro, built and tested on Earthlike.

Question: How important is it for the truck to be level (or the ground to be level), as this may throw off the direction of drilling initially?

Can you use two flight blocks and a time to set arrival at dig point, switch to flight block 2 and move slower?

I've been trying to get AI blocks to work, same issues you (and everyone else) have highlighted here with the height above ground. I can't understand how KSH didn't anticipate people would want to use AI for miners. So I use PAM for drift miners, and SCAM for bore miners (the latter being my preference because of how it handles drone swarms). But I still want to find a solution so I can use AI blocks, because as you noted, not everyone can run scripts.

The piston connector to go < 0 AGL is BRILLIANT, though :) One issue though - your return waypoints are relative to the beacon, and set with the connector up high, but with the piston extended the drone is liable to hit that and not connect because it wants to go higher? So maybe put the beacon beside the connector so it won't matter where the piston puts the connector?

I couldn't tell, but I'm wondering if you have the flight block set to align to P-gravity, and set the max angles both to 0? That might solve the problem with it toppling over either on hitting the ground or in the borehole, especially on rise?

Might also want to make the arch a couple of blocks higher to make sure the drone is clear of the borehole before it goes into docking mode?

Now all you need are a few ship welders to repair it fast as it's unloading while using some of the resources it collects. 100% self sufficient & no need for maintenance.

Mine almost works, I've got it to complete every sequence. Just not all together yet. It keeps getting confused.

If the drone's AI boxes can't be set to target and move towards the various mineables then this seems like a hit or miss endeavor. If the AI can search and move to deposits then it seems to me like there would be a better way. I've never played this game, but I am watching vids on it in case I decide to buy it. I have seen drone videos where it can attack hostiles with various strats, but I haven't yet come across a drone miner vid other than yours yet.

Holy! I need to look for smaller channels it seems. I've been looking for an autominer for PlayStation use, and no matter where i looked everyone said it was impossible.

Did this ever make it to the workshop?

I have seen lots of these scriptless miners. None of them are as easy to set up and use as PAM.

The Ai is just too buggy in this game. Even all these months later nothing beats a script.
