I have had schizophrenia for 42 years. When I was 19 they tried psychological therapy, it was a complete waste of time, in fact it made me much worse. Everyone in the group was focusing on me, and I got so bad that they had to transfer me to a locked ward and I was there for a long time. All these years later I live alone and have virtually no contact with other human beings because I have always been unable to make friends and I have no family members around to see or speak to. It is a miserable existence. All I do is talk to myself and the walls, and my neighbours think I’m odd. I don’t have anyone to talk to except from the occasional appointment with my GP and my psychiatrist. That means I have months without talking to anyone as these appointments are few and far between. It’s alright for you to say that it helps to have support from other people, but I don’t have any of that.

Thanks for this video I was diagnosed with schizophrenia as a young man I still take medicine and it was a battle but my best support network has been the church, since becoming a Christian.

Thanks a lot doc. I have seen most of your videos on schizophrenia, and I find them really helpful. A loved one of mine has been diagnosed with this terrible illness.
May god bless you with good health and High spirit.

Again thank you, diet, talking, getting out, yes . All of it matters along with meds . This is tuff . My 35 yr old has it and my 19 yr old.
I quietly cry in between the chaos then keep pushing Fwd for answers and a new direction that’s healthy for everyone.

I feel like my schizophrenia is the main reason I lost a lot of people because I felt like they either didn’t love me, wanted to kill me or was using me……. I feel like I’m not enough even when I do a lot, I feel like no one really cares me no matter what I do.. ugh I hate this sometimes. I don’t think anyone without schiz will understand how hard it is to keep the voices quiet in my head.

Sounds like you're talking about the kind of approach that "Open Dialoque Model" in northern Finland has been developed and used, successfully so.

I've had psychosis (now schizophrenia diagnosis) for some years now, and I've been applying at least 10 different treatment modalities, many of them having some effect on my psychosis. There's a video on of my story on this on my channel, and I recommend everyone who has schizophrenia or psyhcosis to watch, and keep your own mind as your own instead of blindly swallowing all that I or anyone else, tells you. The antipsychotic drugs haven't been a good solution for me, and if it was up to me, I'd stop using them, because I do not really need them anymore and they harm my well-being more than the psychiatrist seems to realize or admit.

We all have fear and trauma. That could be diagnosed as schizophrenia. Drug and alcohol make it worse. It’s a spiritual solution.

Surely giving sedatives make people much worse in the long run. People with schizophrenic episodes are like in a dream state. It surely must mean that they are simultaneously conscious and in an REM sleep state. Of course we are not observers of our dreams but participants in them, hence why the sufferer thinks their delusions are real. Would it not follow that sedation pushes them further into these hallucinations long run. Im no psychiatrist nor do i have the condition, but is it not obvious 🤷

It’s a spiritual side effect of not connecting with the higher power . Jesus is the healer . We struggle not against flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness in high places .
