This is the result of inflation. Companies don't want to increase the price, because it might put people off of buying their products. So instead, they decrease the volume of the product they're selling in order to keep in business.

This is what happens when governments keep printing fiat money.

I remember people complained about the size of Toblerone when its weights were shrunk from 400g to 360g & 170g to 150g but the packaging remained the same.
