It's shakhshoukha with a "kh" sound :) (so we differentiate it from the more well known Shakshuka), it comes from the word "chakhchakh" which in Algerian refers to soaking solid food items into liquid ones, like you do with the flatbread in the sauce :) Thank you for making this, it's so heartwarming to see an all time favourite dish in one of my favourite food channels !!

This looks so good! I think it would be delicious with an Arabic chopped salad on the side.

Hard time finding lamb shoulder in California? Lamb is used a lot in Mexican food, any carnicería should have lamb especially in Southern California, ask a random Mexican they will probably know. If push come to shove get it from Baja California, like Mexicali or Tijuana.

Sorry but I think you could have tried harder to pronounce the name of the country and get the right animal protein - otherwise, what was the point? You may get the engagement but only for so long.

I’ve heard that they don’t have lamb meat in USA 🇺🇸 & that they eat beef instead. Truth may be not much lamb🐑, hardly any lamb farming, I suppose.
