Dr. David K. Bernard discusses his latest book, "Anchor Points: Essays in Apostolic Apologetics," and why Apostolics should "always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15, NKJV).

Thank you brother Benard, for this book. I have many apologetic books but none are from a apostolic, oneness, full truth prospective. This will be a great trusted tool. So thankful for you and your service to the kingdom.

Your explanation on this subject is a very good and Divine brain storming question. Have you published books of your many topics? If at all you have published books, please, try your best to distribute them for sale, the contents are so important for the everyday life endeavor in the world.

I would respectfully like to hear a clarification on the washing of feet, the love supper or agape banquet, the holy kiss, women preachers, women pastors, Ordination to the ministry (if it is a sacrament or if uninterrupted succession is necessary or valid) and the possession of ministers to the local church, the presentation, blessing, prayer and dedication of children, the laying on of hands, anointing with oil, ecclesial discipline, confession of sins, the use or not of a literal veil over long hair in women when praying or prophesying, the descent of Jesus into Sheol o Hades, the watchful angels and the nephilim

Thank you so much

So the good Doctor lays out some strategies for talking with atheists. He suggests to say if you are an atheist you have no explanation for suffering. If a person is an atheist there is no particular reason to think that they should have an explanation for suffering. The problem of suffering is one for people who believe that the world is designed in a way to achieve good outcomes. (To put the argument in non Christian terms) An atheist does not believe the world is designed so suffering and bad things is not surprising. One would think that if a person wanted to convert a group they should be better informed.. To be able to be successful at winning arguments with another person you should know how they think so that you can design how to talk to them, not at them.

Thank you for these sir! May I request your biblical input on hypnotism? I would not have believed it was real until I witnessed it. Is it the power of evil spirits? Or can people really have that power over another? Or something else?

Isn't it the responsibility of the congregation to create a need for more upc churches in their city and the responsibility of the pastor to teach them to bring in so many souls a new upc church is needed.

Ignatius of Antioch

Ignatius was taught by the Apostle John and appointed Bishop by the Apostle Peter.

Ignatius of Antioch Epistle to the Smyraeans ch 8 107 AD
“See that ye all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery(priests) as ye would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church”.

Ignatius of Antioch Epistle to the Romans preface [50-107 AD]
"Ignatius . . . to the church which holds the presidency, in the location of the country of the Romans, worthy of God, worthy of honor, worthy of blessing, worthy of praise, worthy of success, worthy of sanctification, and, because you hold the presidency in love, named after Christ and named after the Father" 👈😳

Ignatius of Antioch to the Ephesians ch 5 (50-107)
For if I in a short time had such converse with your bishop, which was not after the manner of men but in the Spirit, how much more do I congratulate you who are closely joined with him as the Church is with Jesus Christ and as Jesus Christ is with the Father, that all things may be harmonious in unity.
Let no man deceive himself: if any one be not within the altar, he is deprived of the bread of God. For if the prayer of one or two possesses such power, how much more that of the bishop and the Whole Church ! He, therefore, that does not assemble with the Catholic Church, has even by this manifested his pride, and condemned himself. For it is written, "God resisteth the proud." Let us be careful, then, not to set ourselves in opposition to the bishop, in order that we may be subject to God.

This strikes me as so important and yet so tongue in cheek as to make it comical. First and foremost, Christians should study Apologetics, but more importantly, study the Scripture. Hosea 4:6 declares that God's people (the Israelites) were destroyed for their lack of knowledge. Paul taught Timothy, "Study to show yourself approved."

The irony here is that for most Christian denominations, and extra-denominal groups such as Oneness Pentecostals, their theological knowledge, i.e., Biblical knowledge, is shallow at best and at times, non-existent as the majority of them simply parrot what the man with the microphone says.

For instance, I was at a UPCI church two weeks ago, where the visiting evangelist said, "You have the authority to tell the world, when you see me, you see the Father." And this evangelist went on to say that as animals reproduce after their own kind, so does God, and when we become Sons of God, we are like God.

The room clapped their legs, said amen, hallelujah, etc, all unwittingly and unknowingly agreeing with the damnable 'little gods' doctrine. Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Joyce Mayer, Steven Furtick, Todd White, Paula White and the mainstream, Charismatic, New Apostolic Reformation and Word of Faith Movement all believe in this doctrine, and the Apostolics always rabidly proclaim they are not Charismatics, but here is a UPC preacher teaching Word of Faith doctrine.

How does this happen? Because the people are destroyed by a lack of knowledge and their destruction comes from lacking enough knowledge and too much trust in a guy who calls himself a 'God called' minister.

So, all that to say, I agree that we Christians MUST study Apologetics and Scripture.

I'll end with this, follow the highlights of this video, study to show yourself approved. Don't keep a closed mind, such as where men like DKB constantly say things like, "These books aren't written by Apostolics...." That statement is true for ALL of human history up and until around 1945ad. Stop being fearful of 'Non Apostolic' writings.

Praise the Lord Brother Bernard you may not know who I am but I have watched your podcast on YouTube and I absolutely loved them. However, i do have a question I hope you can answer with another podcast video so if I get asked I will know what to say. I understand the Bible says that men are not supposed to have long hair and i believe it to be true I was just wondering if it is what God said then how come Jesus had long hair too? God bless you
