How To Disable Inactive Window Scrolling Or Auto Scrolling In Windows 10

preview_player
Показать описание
There is a "feature" in Windows 10 that allows users to scroll within a window that is currently NOT the active window.

Sometimes this can be confused with a faulty mouse or trackpad and can easily cause applications to behave erratically without the user realising they are in the wrong window or the window they're using is not appearing to be active.

This can easily be toggled on or off to try and troubleshoot mouse or pointer problems.

First go to the start button and type in mouse and choose mouse settings. In the options use the toggle switch to enable or disable the scroll within inactive windows function.

Let me know if this helps you or helps your workflow?

I disabled this feature from the options but it still works. Regedit also shows it is as disabled 0. Sooo annoying :C

This feature IS a problem, made my mouse work erratically and I couldn't drag and drop, highlight text properly and many other things just felt sticky.... really terrible setting.

Why did it gave me this video.
I asked the search for "how to fix scroll inactive windowd when I hover over them". Not this 😭😭😭

Put your cursor at the bottom of this page, right-side, and hold. The page continually refreshes and loads. THAT is the problem that should be addressed. It has NOTHING to do with Windows, a mouse, or a so-called update. There are 10, 000 answers online, and everyone of them is wrong. Why is it so difficult to get a solid answer?

I have a problem with scrolling, but it's not this. Whenever I hover over specific scroll functions like the YouTube sound bar, I can scroll down to turn down the volume, but if I keep my mouse hovered over the bar, it will start scrolling on its own back to full volume. This doesn't apply to other scrollable things, like the bar of videos on the right. That will not scroll on its own. Also, if I right click something and move my mouse away from the options menu that pops up, it will disappear. Not sure if that's normal.

My cat walked over my keyboard the other day and it's been doing this since. Do you have any idea what may be causing it?

My problem is that after I am on my Lenovo laptop for a while i cant scroll down with two fingers unless I turn it off. My other problem is that after I have been on it for a while when I tap (not click) on something a white box pops up on the right side giving me options for what I tapped on

I REALLY HOPE YOUR READING THIS. i DON'T HAVE THE OPEN ON HOVER SELECTED IN "EASE OF ACCESS" Sorry for the caps, I just really can't find where this glitch is hiding. It's almost like someone else is controling my computer. Youtube, like yours here pauses and plays on its own. The mouse floats. I can pan across this screen and the mouse opens every single link I just barely cross over. This seems to only have started with the most recent win 10 update.

No... This didn't solve my problem at all and I'm absolutely frustrated.
My shit still keeps scrolling. In folders, some programs, settings. Anything that has a scroll bar on it

Disabled but it still does it, it does it when I have the controller plugged in after 20 or so minutes when I play is it malware? Or a windows issue?
