Paul explains the flaws in research about Statins and where the fascination with low cholesterol originated. He talks about the fact that studies are often funded by pharmaceutical companies and that Statin side effects were hidden in certain studies, therefore contributing to the misleading data surrounding the benefits of Statins. He explains other scandals relating to Statins in terms of withholding data and other lawsuits.

I'm a pharmacist and I must say I can't agree with you more. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. It took me about 5-7 years to realize how corrupt the drug companies, food companies and pharmacies themselves were.

Thank you, my husband is a dermatologist who takes statins and it worries me. He listens to other doctors. Thank you so much. You’re brilliant.

Seems like for every blockbuster drug, there's hidden data that goes along with it... statins, vax, SSRIs (we have a video on this), etc

Would you consider making a layman’s series covering some of your main topics. I’d love to send me dad a video and have him be able to easily understand some of you ideas.

- cholesterol = heart disease
-skin cancer
- vegetable oils + sugar
- etc etc...

Hi Paul, what are your thought on a fruit based diet complemented with meat and organs? mainly for endurance athletes and physically active people. Thanks.

Average day
- Fruit smoothie ( mango, pineapple, papaya, passion fruit, coconut, and dates ).
- Fruit bowl ( kiwi, melon, pineapple, mango, and apples ) with lamb chops and liver.
- Lamb leg steak or lamb chops and a bowl of fruit ( grapes ).

In your "Statins" podcast you said that age isn't a factor in CVD (not sure if you cover that here)? I don't think you gave a reason but felt it didn't make sense - which made sense to me. But later in the day I was reading Dr. Kendrick's book The Clot Thickens and on p.104 he argues "...age is such an important risk factor in CVD. As we age, the rate of damage [to the arteries] may not increase. Howewver, the repair systems start to fall apart." An example he sites is that age decreases EPG recruitment based on a study by Chang et al from 2007. Not sure if that changes your thinking at all or maybe you already knew this. Anyway, enjoy you podcasts. Can't wait to move to Costa Rica some day.

Would love to see a debate with you and Dr. Brad Stanfield, who reviews studies and concludes that recent data shows that Statins are good (and have no major side-effects) and that high cholesterol leads to higher death/stroke/heart attacks.

Not once does a doctor say maybe use a statin to stabilise soft plaque
Which is the only reason that would be advisable especially if you weren’t keeping off sugar and refined carbs ect.
Always ldl hypotheses it’s rubbish

Can you do a video about Zinc? If I have a diet high in beef and organs I would be well over the 40mg tolerable UL for zinc. Either the diet you recommend is unhealthy, or whoever set the 40mg UL is wrong, which one is it?

Not a fan of statins at all but check out Paul Stamet's research on mushrooms. Fascinating and might begin changing your mind.
