I'm glad that we're still connected with Nathan. He's an important part of Talking Trucks.

I feel like it's not talked about enough that the Ford and Toyota eCVTs are not like standard ICE CVTs with steel belts. It's just electric motors and gears connecting them. Pretty sure it's largely the same in other brands FWD hybrids as well.

As an owner of both AWD 4k tow, and a fwd hybrid Mavericks, I'd have to say that I'm not thinking of the hybrid awd as much as I thought I would.

The hybrid got about 40-44mpg for me driving around town to work. However it only gets 35-37 on highway speed just by itself. And it's in the low 20s when hauling an ATV. The 2.0T AWD with 4k tow also got over 30mpg at highway speed. And it has more power and better cooling. I'd assume hauling the same ATV on freeway it would use the same, if not less, fuel than the hybrid fwd.

Ford should never have labelled the Maverick as having a CVT. The eCVT is completely different than the much more common conical cvt. You'll still get a bit of engine drone while accelerating, but none of the other disadvantages. An eCVT should be the highest performance and most reliable transmission possible short of direct drive electric motors. The last time they tried fancy branding for a transmission it didn't go very well (Powershift), but they should have come up with a brand name to avoid putting the label [e]CVT on any marketing copy.

I think they nailed the styling on the front end

For TFLTalk this is my favorite team but Nathan needs a better place to “broadcast from” I am sure that’s coming though.

The new front end isn't the best design ever, but at least it doesn't look like a first gen Chevy TrailBlazer anymore!

I love my 2022 Maverick Lariat FX/4! 25 MPG and I haul, stuff to the dump ( home demo stuff), and tow with my flat bed trailer full of stuff. and this past winter, this little truck blew threw all the snow with ease. Plus!!! This thing rides awesome.

Andrey and Nathan are the best TFL Talk hosts. Great chemistry and mainly on topic.

Part of the horsepower drop on the Ecoboost is the addition of a particulate filter like the DPF diesels have. This was reported on Ford Authority.

Adding a lithium battery & a mechman 400 amp alternator would help a bit if your going to use the a/c power outlet often

Nathan sounds like he just got his wisdom teeth removed. 🤣🤣🤣 Hopefully you can figure out a better audio setup.

Ok Andre I think it's time for Ford to build a Maverick Raptor I think it would be pretty interesting

Love the Podcast/video, it would be nice to have Nathan be able to hook up for TFLtalk cast a couple of times a month!

I'm surprised Mazda hasn't entered the small truck market here in the states

For now, Ford stands alone in this segment. Ford hit mark with this truck.

Good stuff guys. I used to buy a new Ram truck every other year, but the covid price bump basically took me out of the market. So pricing a huge barrier. And worse yet, I have had many quality issues with the Ram's. Charge a premium price for a mediocre product? Sounds like a formula for poor sales.... and what is sitting on the lots?? Hmmm...

I didn’t like it in the beginning but now I really like it and I think that in real it will look even better!
