RS485 is actually not a serial protocol, instead it is only a electrical standard of how the data is transported.

LoRa communication with an old messenger... Nice! Would make a great case for an off-the-grid password manager, too... Did anyone already do something like this? 🤔

10-bit DACs would not be very useful for polyphonic music but adequate for a one/a few tones per channel e.g. games.

Very boring but building something like the Nokia LoRa phone would be illegal to use in EU/UK as anything using ISM bands must be CE marked and obviously anything using a homebuilt system won't have been tested and CE approved (and UKCA), even if modules are used, it's the overall system that must be marked ...
