I wonder why Marvel decided to have James Rhodes be an Airman in the MCU instead of being a Marine as he was in the Comics?

As much as i love the war machine era, remembering that comic where Rhodes got burned badly was one of the most scary comics i ever read as a kid. Wish Rhodes would come back as silver sentinal those shoulder pads are to die for.

Tony knew he was dying when he created the War Machine armor- it was specifically made to compliment Jim's background and fighting style. Tony only wore the WM armor on one occasy- because it was the most advanced suit and he could give it a "shakedown" for any problems before giving it to Rhodey.

So both Tony Stark and Rhodes have their flaws yet they managed to help people with their Armors
