The 1st one is a 3in 70 cal automatic gun. Basically it took the place of the 40mm bofors

For those who don’t know what the first gun is, it is a 75mm autoloading naval mount, it was radar guided and typically mounted in a twin battery. Most cruiser sized ships would’ve had several of these mounts, you would not want to be on the receiving end

Reminds me of those recent rail gun tests they showed. Kinda insane how far ahead it is yet it’s ultimately still just designed to throw things really fast

I used to be on the Nevada Utah border for .. reasons.. unrelated was a bomb testing site nearby that was almost always lit up with silent explosions. Silent. Don’t know how it worked, just saw it on the horizon. The things we have now are terrifying
