People are panic buying in middle Tennessee and we are on a different pipe line. The shortage here is just panic driven

I went to my closest gas station in Tampa and they only have 3 pumps on. Then I drove down the road 2 miles and they had all pumps full. It's just people freaking out for no reason.

As someone who moved from Los Angeles to Norfolk VA, $3/gallon is still a discount! XD

1:12 Krystal caught herself “like my mom hoarding... I mean filling up my gas so I’m prepared” my mom is the same way 😂

It's so crazy seeing people panic buying here in South Florida when we don't even get gas from the Colonial pipeline! There are gas stations running out here cause of hoarders. It's crazy to me the state of constant fear so many people live in.

California had some lines. I’m like we have a refinery down the road 😐

If you live in an area prone to hurricanes it is best to keep your tank more than half full. I learned my lesson when I had to evacuate by myself at 17. The only reason I didn’t get stuck halfway out of town was because a cowboy insisted on letting me cut in line, then blocked some crazies with his big truck so I could get to the pump.

At this point, the preppers should be laughing at everyone. The last year and a half has proven them right.

If only there were manual overrides on the pipeline...

Take twelve, five gallon gas cans, number each one, one through twelve. During the month corresponding to the number on the can, when you need gas, pour the can in your tank, then take the can to the station, top off your vehicle, then refill the can. Do this every month and you will have sixty gallons on hand for when things like this happen. When everything returns to "normal", refill all your empty cans, just do so at different stations so people don't freak out when they see you. Also, consider picking up some fuel stabilizer to add to each can. For those of you who live in areas of inclement weather, tornados, hurricanes, or other yearly storms, this is something you should have already have done. Good luck!

Government: STATE OF EMERGENCY 🚨

Also Government: but yeah don’t freak out

Yep, panic buying in Texas causing shortages was what pushed me over the edge to go electric so I can just fill up at home. We structure our lives in such a way that our cars are how we get our food, money, and are connected to the world, and rely on extremely fragile infrastructure to do so.
