I have the same ‘glitch’ issue when I plug any usb 3 device to a Dell dock attached via usb c to my Spectre x360. I’ve managed to work out that the issue is not dock related (as it doesn’t happen with my XPS13). I have an older Dell usb 3 dock and when connected to the Spectre the same usb peripherals work flawlessly. Brilliant machine if only HP would fix their usb c / thunderbolt issue.

I got a usb c female to HDMI male converter to use on my laptop but doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong I'm not savvy with components.

Get HPZbook dock station, connect usb dock through thunderbolt usb C, enjoy the lagging for few days and throw it all away.

Upgrade the firmware. This version has a power deficit that we found out about when upgrading the 350 Elitebook 360's in use. They required the use of the laptop power cable while using a dual monitor setup. We decided to go with HP Elite USB-C Dock. It comes with 2 display ports and a hdmi port. The power output was enough to power the multiple display setups that's standard for all users.

Do you have other USB C adapters (smaller, travel size) that you've tried with the x360? I just ordered the x360 2017, but I've also been reading on HP forums that the 2016 models had some issues with USB C adapters (for example, HDMI output quality inconsistent)
