The idea is honestly one of the best to date. Needs a huge battery to work decently and bezel-less screens because those bezels in the middle, nu-huh.

Holding this phone I felt like I was holding a DS. Which, the DS is one of my favorite handheld systems so, I wasn't complaining XD. I loved typing in fold out mode, though looking at photos is weird with it being laid out over the crease. I think if you could show 2 photos 1 on each screen, that would be cool.

Probably not, because the Daydream View might scratch one of the screens.

I currently use the Axon 7 (rooted) and enjoy it very much - especially the speakers. It is too bad that ZTE used 2016 specs and didn't increase battery capacity. Even with the shortcomings you noted, I might have taken a flyer on it.
