2023 Lexus ES Hybrid | Now with F SPORT Handling

The central tenets of Lexus are best exemplified in one car: the ES. It became the luxury brand’s second model when sales began in the fall of 1989; a V6-powered, front-wheel drive sedan sized smaller and priced more affordably than the LS flagship. It quickly became a benchmark of quality and by 2002 the ES was the best-selling luxury car in the United States. This seventh-generation car debuted in 2018 and is now offered in a variety of flavors including 4-cylinder, V6 and gas-electric hybrid powertrains, an all-wheel drive option for the base engine and some available F SPORT flair.

MSRP as-tested: $56,200

It is criminal how few views this channel gets.

Have had a 2019 and now 2022 ES 350 F Sport. This is one of the most comfortable quiet roomy Lexus sedans I have owned for this price point. Thanks for the great review as usual from a consummate professional..

Steve, this review is spot on! I own a 2020 ES 300h and it is the absolute best vehicle I've ever owned!

Got mine last month, 2023 ES300h. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid.

It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories:

1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps;
2) Smartacess Card Key;
3) Premium Paint;
4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display;
5) Ultra Luxury Package;
6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat;
7) Door edge film by 3M;
8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and
9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows.

More:
The three-projector design creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads.

Ultra Luxury extras:
1) 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels
2) Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades
3) Power open/close trunk with kick sensor
4) 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen display 10.2-inch Head-Up Display
5) Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Panoramic View Monitor.

Averaging 43+ MPG City/Hwy driving and I had the oil and filter changed at 1, 000 miles for my own peace of mind. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10, 000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the Oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and Toyota filter every 5, 000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. LOL 😎

The RX's new interior is excellent. I hope Lexus adds that setup to all their vehicles going forward.

Great video! Loving that colour combination. I recently got the facelifted ES to review to here in Scotland

I'm looking to get myself an ES Hybrid... Right now, I'm liking the ES 300H.

Great review, as always! In this blue and red spec, might it also be known as the Superman edition? 😄

Sick review Steve. Really like this car. But given the crazy used car climate we're in, this would prolly be over $60k easy.

Will the 2025 models have the hands free parking assist ? Thanks !

Out of 5 Lexus models total, my first 2 were the '96 and '00 ES versions. Absolutely loved them both, but the siren's song of the RWD IS 350s spirited me away. 🙂 Nice review, the Ultrasonic Blue with the Circuit Red interior is an awesome combo!

I really wish Toyota would rate the combined torque. I have a Camry hybrid so basically this and 163 lb isn’t a big number yet my car feels so much peppier than that! It’s gotta be atleast 200 or more

The best ES would be a ES350 AWD F Sport. Yet Lexus is unwilling.

I have a 2022 ES300h and can't say enough good things about it. Previously had a 2018 model. The current version provides a better ride and more stable handling.

actually needed more hybrid power with the same soft suspension, GT style.

700 mile range I would fill up every 7 weeks.

I hope that piece hanging from the bottom undercarriage @5:17 is from it being a press fleet vehicle and not from the legendary "Lexus Quality". Great review otherwise Steve.

Purists won't buy an ES. So that point is moot. This is a great appliance for A to B transportation it seems. Although mileage could be better.
