The 6 R's of Recovery for Baseball (RECOVER FAST!)

I came up with a new way to think about recovery in baseball. It's called The 6 R's of Recovery for Baseball. When I was growing up I always used the acronym RICE. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevate. But as I got older and experienced more, I learned what worked best for my body and recovery. So instead of using R.I.C.E., I came up with The 6 R's of Recovery for Baseball. So if you're a pitcher trying to recover your pitching arm, or a position player trying to recover your body or throwing arm, try out The 6 R's of Recovery for Baseball. I think you'll like it over the traditional recovery routine. This is pretty much all you need to remember for your arm care and it's easy, just remember the 6 R's: Rest, Rub, Run, (w)Rap, Raise, and Rehab. Please share this video with your pitchers and position players!

Let me know which one of The 6 R's of Recovery for Baseball are your favorite...

I’ve been having elbow pains for 3 years. First the doctor said it was growth plates and I got that fixed but it still hurt. Then it was the tendons in my elbow and I sat out for 2 years and once again it still hurts as much as it did before. I went to the doctor after I sat out and he said go to rehab but he said it won’t do much. Do you have any exercises or anything like that to try to get back into pitching or position player.

Love it coach. I am a forty year young lefty pitcher, still playing in a couple of leagues, and I do most of these. Definitely going to try out the wrap. Another "R", which kind of goes with rub, is Roll. Foam or stick rollers are great for the legs and arms to really work out the scar tissue.

I personally fine banda as the most effective way to loosen up my arm, shoulders and traps. I do it before everytime i throw and everday if i am trying to recover quickly.

What it be a good idea to do a leg workout after throwing that way you’re able to still workout and give your upper body a rest?

The key to being a big league pitcher is the 3 rs. Readiness,   Recooperation, and Conditioning. Some guys like to ice up their arm, other fellas think heat is the way to go. But I have discovered the secret. HOT ICE. I I heat up the ice cubes, ITS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!

I was watching a video about a former pitcher helping to improve his pitching. One thing he told him is to land your lead foot at a 45 degree angle between home and 3rd because your cleat is I guess supposted to break the ground. Is this correct or not? If not where should your foot land?
