6 years ago I wanted to get into FPV. I bought the best of everything at the time. I spent around $1500 on everything, lol. Somehow I fried my AIO board and I NEVER flew the drone! I said screw it and sold the whole thing. I have always wanted to do FPV still. I search videos all the time about DIY setups vs buying an RTF, etc. THIS video though, THIS video gave me the push I needed. After searching for parts and batteries, I ended up purchasing everything in this video from AliExpress for $414 shipped. I even got the Tattu batteries on Amazon.

Why do I say this all? Honestly, your video really made me feel like this is doable and can be cheap. Yes, I didn't have goggles, a radio, batteries, or a charger. So that is on me. But overall, this build is so enticing and well filmed. Really, fantastic video and approach to your editing and parts list. Now that I have all that other stuff I can see myself building the other sizes you have in your videos as well. Hats off to you my man!

Your $100 5 inch build was the only reason I got into 5 inch drones but those motors suggested didn't work out for me. Now another $100 video 😮 it's too tempting not to build!! Keep up the great vids!

There is a certain magic to the way you create these videos. It really comes across how you care about the viewers as people and your empathy comes across when you explain common issues we might experience as beginners. You did not have to spend those extra minutes explaining about soldering, and solder tips but you did. On top of that, no OTT youtuber shenanigans either. You're a good guy! I was going to build this one too but got stuck on which VTX to use. It didn’t even cross my mind to use the Zeus. This seems perfect for the frame. Nice work!

Just finished this build and ripped 5 packs today. Awesome

You've become my favorite YouTube channel right now. Just about every one of your budget builds I have built myself already or have considered building, and it's nice seeing someone put their own spin or flavor on these. Also a drastic change from the perpetually sponsored content that you're used to seeing on drone YouTube.

Some beginner advice on soldering:
- Spend some money on the iron if you can afford to. Quality irons are more likely to head up well, hold the temperature better and have a decent temperature controller that keeps a relatively tight window. Also get flux, isopropyl alcohol 70% for cleaning is nice to have on hand and usually not too expensive.
- Don't trust Aliexpress for buying your first roll of solder. They have some stuff that is barely functional. Prices for the stuff aren't ridiculously high in first world countries anyway.
- Get a cheap multimeter. Cheapest one you can find will do well enough. It's just about the ability to find short circuits. You can't always see a connection between two solder pads, but you'll always be able to measure it. Cheapest models are below $10. You can also use them to measure other stuff, they're just not overly accurate. They will provide you with decent educated guesses though.
- Get some practice PCBs like Sam had in the video. They'll help you out a whole lot and give you the option to try different approaches. There are many different ones, so whatever you're trying to solder, there is a practice PCB for it.
That should set you up for decent success in case you're not looking for a setup for a one-off solder job.

I build your $100, - 5inch drone. It was my first ever drone and only started in the sim while I was waiting for the parts to arrive. The drone is a tank! I crashed it in sand, wet fields, trees and bushes at full speed and it is holding up just fine. I was thinking on upgrading the motors but only when the cheap ones die. It is the perfect drone for a beginner to try the tricks learned in the sim. I just bought a air65 champion edition for indoors (with a throttle limit and according PID tuning to tame it down) but I think this will be my next project to build. Amazing video! Keep up the great work! Maybe a budget tinywhoop build video in the future? They can be made for around 100/120 dollars.

My first build was your 10 inch, after that is this one, the 2 inch. I've asked gpt about the flight time and blades and this is what he said "So in a hover-only test? Yes, 5-blades can win. But once you start moving around, especially outdoors, the script flips — drag and amp spikes go up, and fewer blades become more efficient." So I'm gonna order some 3 blades to test and ill edit this comment after the test with the results. :)

Have been flying this thing for a few months now. This was my first fpv drone ever and i love it. Perfect for flying around the house, isnt to noisy etc. I do think however that the vtx and flight controller are better suited for a toothpick.( some guy built one with the exact same controller and vtx just a little lighter and better for indoor flying) I am probably going to built one with the same frame and camera (and motors but i have different ones as the one of the motors in the video came without magnets) but a speedybee stack and vtx (speedybee F405 mini and Speedybee XT800)for just about €35 more than the original. Love the rest of the build tho flies great (as far as i know)😀

I was having an issue with my motors on an unrelated build and couldn't figure it out at all. Then I happen upon this video and you explain startup boost, I have never heard of it before in any previous videos from anyone else so thank you for helping unintentionally solve my problems

Good videos, i built a 5 but not with the parts from your videos but i did use almost all your videos to learn how to build it. Turned out great! These drones are harder to fly than people on YouTube make it look, especially when trying bando or woods, I've crashed quite a few times but the drone has yet to take any damage except the props.

I built this drone as my very first drone (I did it mainly for the soldering challenge), and I've flown it a lot and crashed it a lot! It works quite well!
