* why you shouldn't smash your bar into improperly secured squat stands with the wrong height for you when benching...
I've benched on squat stands 3x a week for 3+ years now with no issue everrr

If an idiot is going to use a slippery floor with a squat rack, this is what happens. I use my squat rack for bench -rest safely because I have a non-slip hard rubber floor.

This was user error. The squat stands were set up poorly. They should have been closer together with the legs underneath the middle of the bench.

Doing it on The wood floors is what's stressing me out

This was screaming trouble from the first rep

The majority of weightlifting fatalities happen on the bench. The bar travels over the trachea and carotid artery. A slipped grip onto the neck or jaw bone (even with spotters) is a gruesome sight. Use of safeties is the only truly effective way to protect from a slipped grip or missed rep.

That was actually a very well done roll of shame though, so good demonstration on that front.

easy fix, place a weight behind the stand and move forward an inch.

Yeah this should be titled "why did I upload this?"..Poor placement of the racks, and u could put weights on them so they dont slide

Not the brightest bulb uh... Put weights on the base and push them up against a wall. I use these and they never move. Plus you should have them place on a lifting mat or rug not a slippery floor SMH

Much safer to get one that has much more support and a built in brace that connects it together.

This is true, although you can get a squat rack that connects the two bits together if you know what I mean

So basically, the independently moving stands can cause a dangerous situation if you accidentally nudge it out of place and unlike a squatting position which allows you to have some mobility to correct it, laying on a bench means you cant go chasing the rack if it moves. I suggest to get out of this situation you drop the bar slowly to your non dominant side and slip off the other way.

What i learned from this is that it'll be fine, you can just bail out like this guy did lol

I wouldn't use those. But if I WERE to use them, I'd have em backed up against the wall at least, so they don't move. Not the one piece incline bench you have against the wall. That thing will rarely, if not never, slide on you. So rotate those two with each other 👍🏼

the most triggering thing has to be you benching over wood floors

When he failed the rep and first looked over towards the camera direction, I thought it was Robzilla! RIP

Put the stands a little closer together and spin them so the pins stick out on the inside not the outside, that is what bumped into the weights
