Doesn't work for me. Dogmeat doesn't appear in the vault. I even tried positioning him on the elevator before going down.. he disappears.

it's not, working for me. does this glitch or whatever it is only works right when I get dog meat? I've just found out about this and been playing for a bit. not long but lvl 13. anyone know?

So it was not a glitch at all. Either your perception or charisma must be more than 1. if you have either of this at 1, u might not be able to do it. I've tried a 2nd run with a different character and it works. My first character wasn't able to get dogmeat to fetch the weapon because of what i mentioned above. If u don't believe me try it yourself. its what i think the problem is but prove me wrong coz having any special at 1 might prove to be a major hindrance somewhere in the game.

When i go back down to the vault the dog isnt with me, even if i position him on top of the vault door and activate he doesnt appear down there.

Good tip! I'm currently stuck in Concord trying to clear out all the hostiles with my pistol, as my armor ran out of power and my mini gun ran out of bullets. And my dog? Don't even know where he is....lost him on the way.... so far a pretty frustrating experience. But I think I may just start over...

This still works, all you have to do is keep going up and down the elevator until the dog appears. it worked for me when dogmeat was set on follow and he was walking in front of the elevator as it went down

It does not work. Dogmeat found it and when it comes back to me the gun just disappear!
