As far as ute-based large SUVs are concerned, the SsangYong Rexton doesn't get anywhere near the same level of attention as the best sellers.

But with the timely arrival of its midlife facelift, it's out to make its presence felt.

So, are revised looks, more technology, an upgraded engine and a new transmission enough to give Isuzu MU-X buyers pause for thought?

This guy quickly gives good comments about the Rexton but goes into in depth at its faults. I think these critics are influenced by outside influences, if you get my drift . I have test driven the Rexton and its super quiet and smooth. The stereo is actually really good.
Im about to purchase one as they are terrific value for money and leave the other cars he mentioned for dead.

It’s great that they still have physical buttons and haven’t gone the way of incorporating everything into a screen. Nice to see premium cabin materials too in a sea of cheap plastics from the mainstream competition.

Ok so watching this video has confirmed to me that this guy has no idea. The drive is smooth, quiet and punchy, no body sway, no rocking, nice suspension, no road noise and not a lot of issues. This guy is the sort that buys a Fiat I reckon.

I got delivery of my Rexton ultimate 3 weeks ago I went with the dealers option of Iron Man performance suspension upgrade, it’s a very nice drive I wouldn’t say the Diesel engine is noisy anything but the cabin is very well insulated from road noise, thanks for your review much appreciated

Rexton isn't based on a Ute. Musso is based on Rexton

You can tell the guy reviewing it has gone into this car with a negative mind set, comparing it to the other cars in the range he didn't really do either . All other reviews on this car has been good, why a biased negative review ?

I just test drove 1. I had a wildtrack for 2 years. I was surprised how good the rexton was.

Great review however, on occasions you compare or rate it against a car/sedan which I feel irrelevant. More comparisons against it's competitors in the same class would be more relevant/helpful. Please keep the reviews coming.

I bought the 2022 Rexton ELX last year, I must admit the comment on the suspension was true.I opted for the ironman upgraded springs and shocks and that was an improvement. Once you get accustomed to its size I think its fun to drive and am happy with it overall, but why isn't there a grab handle for the front seats ( the second row has them) because at 170 cm height its a tip toe to get into, though once in the sets are very comfortable.

Ours should be here mid march. Multiple test drives against the Mitsubishi p-sports and the Rexton pretty much was better in most categories we thought While I loved the sports and have owned 3 tritons over the years, the sports felt smaller, nosier and harsher on the poor roads around here compared to the Rexton.

It's very good vehicle overall, not perfect, but pretty decent. Just underrated locally. Wasn't Sat Nav available as a dealer fitted option? It was initially listed as being available as an optional extra .

I’m pleased that you covered noise lvls steering control and take off Lag Those 3 can be quiet annoying to put up with and it has certainly raised my eyebrows.

To fold the second row sit from the third row seat you can just pull the tab located at the bottom of the second row seat. No need to reach out to the lever on the side of the second row seat.
