Understanding scopes to create MORE PROFESSIONAL VIDEOS in Final Cut Pro

Understanding what video scopes do and how to use them to create better looking color grades and more professional videos is a must. Today's Final Cut Pro tutorial is a fairly comprehensive guide on these video scopes (Waveform/Vectorscope/Histogram) within FCPX, with some quick examples on color grading. By the end of the video you should understand how to use these scopes to your advantage to create better films/edits.

The tutorial will go over how to access and set up scopes; the meaning of words like 'luma', 'chroma', and 'RGB'. It will go into detail on the Waveform scope and we'll show examples of how to use Waveform channels like 'RGB Parade/RGB Overlay/RGB/Luma/Chroma/Y'Cb'Cr'). We'll talk about the Vectorscope and it's importance, as well as show examples of how to use it to correct skin tones. Lastly, we'll touch on the Histogram.

Just want to apologize if you felt I went too fast. I definitely did 😂This was created a couple years ago when I still didn't know what the right pacing was for YouTube videos. For this video, you can slow the playback speed to '.75' by clicking on the gear icon and then hit playback speed. Hopefully that helps! ALSO, I'm thinking of recreating this now that I've been on YouTube for a couple years, but I need to know that's something you guys would want.
