Snipers almost never visible lasers for aiming and if they do it’s infrared but these are mostly for range finding

Visible lasers are mostly used for close range fighting because lasers are zeroed for a fixed distance, and aren’t easy enough for the shooter to use at distance. People mostly put them on a handgun to get a good enough shot faster.

I have a digital scope with a IR laser range finder and built in ballistic calculator, also has IR night vision... literally press a button to get range and the crosshair adjusts for the point of impact. 5-20X zoom optically and something like 52X digitally. And I mounted it on an air gun...😅

As Archer I have to correct this typical starter fault. Every good Archer (traditional Bow with no modern Extras) will shoot with both eyes open. Otherwise you can't estimate the distance and get the arrow on the target.

just noticed that at 3:55 in the video, there was an error. It said 1855 on screen but the narator said "1835"

Im pretty sure this is an error since the next date was also 1855

I guarantee that the first ranged weapon wasn’t a spear or hatchet, it was a rock. You don’t need to fashion a rock, you just need to find and pick one up.

Small correction. Boomerang used in hunting didn't return. Its not motorised....once it hits its target it stops.

Having all this new technology doesn't make up for lack of skill. But it can help speed up your learning.

Lol it's funny because the scope hitting your eye after you fire is still something that happens. It's 100% avoidable but it's something I think happens to a lot of people the first time they shoot a scoped high powered rifle.

That little spider now has the largest body count of any living organism because of its intervention of making a scoped telescopes.😏

You are aware that the M2 that he utilized had a selective fire. Meaning shots would be taken in semi automatic

Sadly they didn't cover the Leatherwood ART rifle scope, we had them on M-14 rifles, designated the M-21. A self ranging scope .

"the united states won the war" talking about WW1 is a bit much isn't it, it's more like they were on the winning side

Scopes with AI will be a game changer. Auto-locking to targets and have AI do the rest, following the target around.

I fired my first precision rifle when I was 22. It was on my friend’s uncle’s property and that old thing looked like it had been around before my dad was born, but it was fun. I’m still a little trash at bolt actions but I think it was a mosin knockoff

Hathcock had a setup for using the .50 cal. He used it as a single-shot weapon.

What one does not realize is how wars have played a significant part in scientific innovation

I'm gonna be that guy but a sling or and atal atal (a stick used to throw spears) was most likely built before the bow and arrow.
