Earlier deathcore was imo more influenced by death metal riffs and hardcore punk/black metal (sometimes). Deathcore and metalcore these days is so vast and the label is super broad. Metalcore can either be arena butt rock with screams or technical death metal with emo boys singing in the chorus

Infinite Death is still my favorite Thy Art album. Its a shame that the lyrics (in conjunction with the old vocalists opinions on women) stopped them from playing it live anymore.

Infinite death "title track" and I'll Show You God was my favorite tracks on that EP. There was something so powerful with early Thy Art is Murder including The Adversary. Lyrically the band wasn't to proud of it but something about Infinite Death embodies the entirety of the genre. Even with modern deathcore. I feel that EP genuinely holds a crown still to this day. Pure evil. Sick playing by the way \m/

Old death core sounded very thrash metal or melodic death metal. As times goes on I feel bands are running out of ideas without sounding like a copy and paste.
