Well that seems easier than creating a profile getting to the part of the game and choosing one of the other starters and then saving going to pokemon home and have my main profile collect it and then repeat

if I remember correctly, In a mandjtv video, I did see a mass cyndaquil outbreak in the snowy area. so . . . i guess thats another way.

Here're my suggestions of more mix-up starting trio:

1. Bulbasaur + Chimchar + Totodile
2. Chikorita + Charmander + Piplup
3. Treecko + Tepig + Froakie
4. Turtwig + Torchic + Popplio
5. Snivy + Fennekin + Mudkip
6. Chespin + Litten + Squirtle

What is the minimum requirement to do the old-fashioned way(trading it to another game, erasing the save file and trading it back) or using Pokémon Home?

or.... you just make 2 other saves you get the starters from those, and you catch a single Pokémon transfer the starters to the main save via Pokémon home and you have all three.
