That era was an odd time for cinema and I always remember a film critic saying of Arnie - He isn't particularly good looking, he can't act very well and he can't get rid of his accent, but he can do one thing that no one else can at the moment, and that is pack out a cinema.

I would cut off my arm to see Emma Thompson do stand-up comedy. I think she's one of most genuinely funny women ever. It just seems to roll off her tongue in the most natural, hilarious way. Love her interviews :)

Schwarzenegger was still a great actor, even though he couldn't act. He just has a kind of presence that's appealing. I really find myself rooting for him in most his action films.

He was pretty damn brilliant an actor in the first Terminator. Very, very few could have played that stoic, looming strangely inhuman behemoth. Honestly rewatch that movie he really is legitimately scary. And thats very different from him in real life lol

Arnold has acted well in quite a few films like Total Recall, Predator, Sabotage, Maggie and even managed to outshine his co-stars in the latest Terminator. So, while not the best at acting he can put in a good performance once in a while.
