Actor Emma Thompson joins climate protest in London

Actor Emma Thompson joined the protests in London after taking a 5,400-mile flight from Los Angeles.

She told Sky News that the next generation of campaigners was 'inspiring' and that she 'really cares about my children' in order to come to protest.

She spoke to the crowd telling them that she was 'so proud and thrilled to be part of Extinction Rebellion.'

More than 1,000 officers have been deployed with the ongoing protests and more than 570 people have been arrested.
