Similar story is with Pakistan but there are no economic interests at all. Pakistan exists to balance India. A geopolitical tool. At least Taiwan has something to be proud of and get a bargaining chip.

All major post colonial states which could've challenged the Saxon hegemony have these geopolitical wedges built into them like birth defects, this is by design.

China has Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

India has Kashmir as the wedge which limits our geographical access to Central Asian resources, we used to have a Chicken Neck (Siliguri) corridor surrounded in both sides by hostile states East Pakistan and Tibet (captured by China).

The post WW1 Ottoman Middle East was literally carved up by the British and the French and satraps appointed like the current Saudi ruling family to ensure that the Saxon hand stays on top and the region stays divided forever. The boundaries cut across tribes, lands, rivers and people artificially and the mess we see today can be attributed to their deeds wholly.

The sun never set on the British Empire, our masters just became better at hiding themselves.

The problem with Taiwan is it's split personality they are both Taiwan and Republic of China simultaneously and they present themselves as one or the other depending on what suits them.

"There is but one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China". This has been clearly recognized by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 of 1971. The US is bound by this resolution which it still recognizes. So the US, imho, is using Taiwan like it used Hong Kong to foment a colour revolution.

There seems to be a big misunderstanding here. Since you're using the number 15 you're presumably talking about the countries with full formal recognition and diplomatic relations with the Republic of China. These are mostly very small countries. They are: Belize, Eswatini (Swaziland), Guatemala, Haiti, the Vatican, Honduras, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, & Tuvalu. The countries you mentioned probably support Taiwan informally but they don't formally recognize it.
