Helped my boyfriend clean out his closet. He has easily over 150 pieces and still claims he “doesn’t have that much”. He’s literally still holding onto a hoodie he’s had since middle school. And he’s 27 now.

It would be fun to see pics of you before you became a minimalist.

Great video! I feel like what you do for a living plays a role in the amount of clothes you own too. Some people will have to have a dedicated work wardrobe along with their “every day” clothes. I’ve personally been able to downsize my wardrobe from over 300 pieces to under 100 and I couldn’t be happier.

I wear the same clothes a few times a week. Every piece of clothing goes back on the hanger once I’m done with it. It doesn’t get gross or anything, I don’t work outside or in dirty conditions. Even my sports bra gets hung up once I use it. It’s only worn when I run and I don’t sweat very much so it doesn’t get dirty quickly. We have a wild concept of what “dirty” is and it’s definitely not a tshirt you’ve worn for one day (:

I’ve really been loving your content lately (I always do but I am more right now) as a minimalist I felt pressured to have a certain amount of things when I first started to transition and now I have found the right amount after 4 years x

Don’t have the luxury of having a washing machine and dryer. So I have to commute to the laundromat. For me I have to have at least a 2 week supply of clothing. Overall you really hit the nail on the head. Everyone’s lifestyle is different so our laundry habits will be different too!

If it helps anyone, a good way to whittle down clothes is to use the personal colour analysis method and give away anything not in your palette as it won't flatter you the best. For example I am a "cool summer" so I am good in pastels and not in orange, red or brown etc. Peace to all 💗

Lifestyle, where and how you work (at home or part time at home/in person, full time in person), how large is your family, hobbies, etc. If your schedule is consistent, yes, but mine is not. So I have capsules for home and I want to look cute, yes I do, work (suits), and hobbies (hiking, yoga, intense working out) Minimalism allows that to flex.

Numbers like 60 (oh), 30 (really?) and 9 (shocking!) really help to give perspective to someone like me who has hundreds. Thanks.

This was exactly on my mind today, I’ve gotten to the point with my clothes were I don’t have enough hangers or drawer space for them anymore. It gives me soo much anxiety, so I am excited to donate clothes that I don’t wear anymore and stick to things that I only need.

Im currently working through your process of decluttering my closet slowly. I want to love all of my pieces that i own.

but more washing and wearing the same thing, that is more wear nd tear on the clothes. I like the idea, but real soon those 10 pieces will get really worn out, and that is assuming you dont get any bad stains or rips in the pieces (or forgetting it at a friends house)

I do laundry for me and my partner two-three times a week, including bed sheets and towels/bathrobes. It's necessary as we live on an italian Island and it's already 30 degrees here, so we get changed pretty often. You can't wear the same t-shirt or shirt twice in a row here, due to sweating. That could make one think we just need a few clothes as we wash them frequently but it's not the case with me. Washing stuff frequently and air drying under the sun means t shirts get damaged pretty quickly although I am very careful with cycles, spin and detergents, so I need to have some spare stuff aside. Same goes for lingerie, couldn't have just 7 or 8 pairs of knickers as I don't feel comfortable knowing that I have no spare ones in case something unusual happens. Also in winter air drying is more difficult and we'd risk to not have underwear available. But apart from that I don't own many other clothes and I haven't bought anything new in many months now.

What a coincidence, just this week I counted how many clothes I need, and I made a capsule wardrobe, I have to change one or another garment but I have well defined what my style is! Thanks for your videos about minimalism, I want to implement every learning in all possible areas of my life ♡.
