A recent leak has hinted at some exciting new features in an upcoming update for OpenAI's ChatGPT, potentially the much-awaited business version. According to a Reddit user who found the information in the source code, a new interface is being developed, including a "workspaces" feature. This feature allows users to generate profiles that ChatGPT will remember, and it also appears to incorporate file upload capabilities. This development is consistent with OpenAI's plan to launch a business-centric variant of ChatGPT, which was announced in April 2023. Furthermore, it was revealed that the new business version of ChatGPT will implement improved privacy measures, including an update that excludes user data from model training.

r/ChatGPT isn’t private but many subreddits are “blacking out” today in protest of reddits api change

Hey matt wanted to say that around 95% of the most popular reddits in the world are protesting right now and they are private so you can't use them because reddit, 10x the price of their api calls, so all the 3rd dev apps would close the shop and reddit app remain the only one. THey did this because they go public and want to share to investors the numbers. So when they see "500 millions" daily users, instead of "200", they get more money and better stock price and all of that boring stuff. Moderators decided to protest.

2:12 this is just temporary, many large subreddits are currently boycotting because of reddit's new policy change.

Even as an individual, I'd be willing to pay for a version of GPT-4 where I can get it to help me with private issues like finances and medical data...

I love ChatGPT more than my mother ! I've been asking questions for 44 years and got very few answers. The things I did with it, I've made such great programs ! My Profile is something I really hope is true.

This will not be paid much longer as opensource LLMs are about to be able to be ran locally with minimal RAM. They're about to have some huge competition.

The leak I really want is the GPT-4 model and dataset.

This looks like a way to add information (system message) and accompanying documents… If the price isn't too high … I'd love that

openai already has a file upload api, I've actually been building my own version of chatgpt leveraging the file upload api to see how it works. It's always been there.

Having a dedicated workspace for each project would be great for business or personal use. As far as personal use goes, it would be perfect for goal management, financial planning, taxes, book writing, or even just recipes, since you could confidentially upload data and different document versions and keep it focused in that workspace on that singular task.
In business, it makes perfect sense, and I think that businesses would trust OpenAI with their data if the confidentiality of the framework is endorsed by Microsoft.

I think it was the "promise" about the business version that was made in April, rather than open AI promising to do a business version by April.

The race is on. There’s so many great AI options coming for users soon so if I were Open AI I’d be careful about cost. Isn’t Co-pilot for Windows 11 coming soon? And Bing AI Chat offers a lot of features with web integration for free. That being said I’m a fan of ChatGPT so this is a cool feature if it’s coming.

Matt,
having a profile that contains "personal preferences which ChartGPT should remember about the user" and the ability to upload files have nothing to do with a "business version" of ChatGPT. The "personal preferences" appear to be meant to hold information which the "system prompt" of the OpenAI API already can contain.

It’s possible that the business version could indeed be trustworthy in terms of data. Two reasons: 1) They want government contracts, and that means CJIS compliance by law. Microsoft is working on that. 2) Liability.

Do I trust that they’ll keep my own personal info private? Nope.

I don’t know if “My Files” is for a business version. I have ChatGPT Plus and I got this feature a week or so ago for about a day. I was able to upload a file but didn’t have any way to interact with it. I just assumed it was an upcoming feature because I only found 1 mention of it when I looked it up.

For the first time I saw some real changes inside Openai chat. For the first-time it worked seamless to assign ChatGPT a role and hire him as your agent. If you keep going in that message thread you don't have to keep explain everything. Also in the respond icon I see now for the first time instead of the regular ChatGPT a different icon. It seems it took on that identity for its role.

ChatGPT is not mainstream, I am astounded daily by how many people haven't really heard of it and of those that have heard of it I'm continously astounded by how few have actually tried to use it much less use it regularly.

As far as I can tell, ChatGPT is only mainstream with the terminally online.
