Axiom Station

The construction of the world’s first commercial space station is underway. Following completing preliminary and critical design reviews in collaboration with NASA, our partners at Thales Alenia Space began welding and machining activities for the primary structures of Axiom Station's first module. The first pieces of fabricated flight hardware are beginning to come together, and the assembled module will join us in Houston soon, where we will complete the final assembly and integration. Axiom Space is preparing for a 2026 launch of the first section of our next-generation platform that will operate in low-Earth orbit.

Bigelow Aerospace was just a decade too early… Had working hardware on orbit *YEARS* before there was human launch capability to reach them. Axiom seems to have their timing just right.

Interesting tidbit - this place is actually in the old Fry's Electronics store that's right down the street from NASA in Houston. The whole place was decorated to look like a space station and even had a mockup of the ISS inside. If you've been before back when it was Fry's, you can even recognize the ISS still in there in a few shots. Pretty cool that it went from just being a decoration to an actual space station company!

There shouldn't be a US in-space crew gap. 22 years of uninterrupted human presence. Thank you for closing that gap and continuing the dream. #NoGap

I love that Axiom Space is using the old Fry's Electronic store near JSC.

For those unaware, Fry's (before they went out of business) had a custom "hook" for each store. The one in Webster/Clear lake had an area made up to look like a space station. And now one is really being designed there.

This is amazing! I can’t wait to see the station’s assembly begin. Efforts like this really inspire hope for the human future in space. Go Axiom!!

so the plan is to build onto the ISS and then restructure and separate when it gets decommissioned or earlier?

This looks so fricking cool, it's like the ship from 2001 being made into reality. Awesome stuff!

Love the mission! Crazy to think one day asking if someone is an astronaut is synonymous to asking have you ever been overseas

Cant wait! Great job crew. We are in desperate need for a new SS, not a spaghetti nest of a space station. Just make sure you build ports for Sierra's inflatable habitats. Everything is coming together. Thanks so much!

You bring tears to my eyes. I'm so inspired by what your company is doing. I was worried that things would come to an end when the ISS is done. Please keep up the good work and make Axiom Space Station a success.
