Alignment of the VELO subdetector of the LHCb experiment

Показать описание
The @lhcbexperiment2334 state-of-the-art VErtex LOcator (#VELO) aligned more closely with the LHC beam than ever before, a process known at LHCb as “VELO closing”. The new VELO’s job is to completely reconstruct the trajectories of particle collisions with extreme precision, pick out the important interactions involving B mesons, and analyse them. The VELO closing marks an important milestone in LHCb data-taking during #LHCRun3.
