Nvidia is trying to outplay all the people that were willing to wait for better prices.. Only AMD could change the game by bringing much better price/perf with their new cards.

There is no point in buying 40 series if you have a 3080 or 3090, they show games that no one plays in their charts because you won’t see any noticeable gains in COD, BF, Valorant, CSGO, Fortnight, etc.

It was funny how nvidia talked about gpus for 3 minutes on whole 1:30h event. Not giving any detail. Lets be honest 4080 12gb is basically 4070, difference is not only memory size but other specs too. Also d*ck move from them forcing to buy new gen gpus because DLSS 3.0 will only work on new gen gpu's. And nvidia engineer said that it could work on 2k and 3k series cards but consumers would notice worse experience and worse image quality.. bla bla bla.. Sad that nvidia keeps these anti consumer practices :( hopefully AMD will kick ass in response

After all I went thru for my 3080 in a pandemic, standing in line only to be told no, having to overpay for it with a whole PC, I’ll be damned if i do it again for like 10-15 more FPS on 4K or 8K. 😂😂

With these prices I imagine the "RTX 4050" is gonna be like 400$ lmao. Nvidia basically is no longer for gaming, they are on their way to eliminating low-mid range.

I would say the best thing anyone can do if you're needing a new gpu is don't buy new or don't buy nvidia. Buying new 3000 series cards still helps them in the end, let them sit on all this new stock!

This really feels like they're setting up AMD to succeed like Intel unintentionally did. This could easily turn bad for Nvidia like the 2000 series. I'm really excited AMD please don't let us down

I saw this coming. That's why I got a 30 series card. Turned out to be a good decision. Plus EVGA made up like 40% of the NVIDIA AIB market so with them out I expect shortages.

what shoks me is the massive upgrade of the base clock but downgrade of cuda and bandwidth from 3080 to 4080
it bucks the trend on cuda count for every generation

I think I will wait for Team Red to announce. If they are reasonable in pricing, I will be switching to AMD. If they are just as absurd as Nvidia, I might just step back from gaming for a while. I refuse to pay those insane prices for a computer component.

What unnerves me is that i am pretty sure these overpriced gpus will sell out anyway.
There are quite a few gamers out there who will buy the latest and greatest no matter what, even if paying these ridiculous prices only enables gpu manufacturers to fleece them even more the next time...
The problem is not only that nvidia is greedy, it is also that there are quite a lot of impatient/dumb people out there with too much money in their hands buying even at unacceptable prices.

NEED TIPS: I have a 1080ti but i play 4k60fps and its getting old... I want to change soon. I can buy a used 3080 for 800$ (all price cad) or wait for the 4080 12g for 1400$ or 4080 16g for 1850$. All for a 75 in tv 4h 60fps. What is your call? Do you think the 4080 worth 2x more then a 3080?

I'm betting the 3090 Ti will be better than the 4080 Lite in most benchmarks, especially on VRAM intensive applications. Then you have the 4080 with 16GB at $1199... At that price may as well go all of the way to the 4090 since you get nearly twice as many cuda cores and 50% more VRAM for only an extra 33% more money. I think both of the 4080s are about $100 too much. If they were $799 and $1099, I think they would be more reasonable but at those prices, I think either the 4090 or the 3090 Ti are going to be better buys overall.
