That's right titanium screws don't melt. That's what got Dexter busted in new blood

My entire spine was fused with stainless steel Harrington rods in 1999 when i was 17 years old because i had a 66°double curve scoliosis. The bars have snapped in half in 2 separate places and ive attempted to have them removed twice. The surgeons open my back up only to discover if it was removed, i would become paralyzed due to being "too well fused". So, i have to live in excruciating pain, being on multiple hardcore opiates since 2002, using a walker, having multipe x-ray guided spinal injections every 3 months. Its maddening.

Before my boyfriends Uncle passed away, he furiously demanded we all keep his platinum hip and sell it lol. He was a character for sure. Miss him a lot.

That was attached to a very brave man who contributed in making the time of my youth very exciting. Thank you for that😢

I have scoliosis and I refuse to have surgery as long as I can still walk.
Heard to many horror stories!

All I see is nagging constant pain, hats off to anyone who can live that long with all that holding you together.

I have titanium in my wrist 💪💪 and I’m going to die with it in. I have no insurance and medical saved my hand and saved me from missing a payment that would have made me homeless. I often cry at how blessed I am, and how wel my surgeon took care of me knowing he would not receive proper payment. If any medical people read this know that people like myself who struggle shed major tears to those willing to patch us up for almost no payment. God bless your souls. I love you all.

Crematory operator here!!!
Yes all metal implants, teeth/crowns survive cremation
Also your bones are scraped out the retort & put into the pulverizer then along with the ashes are put into an urn or whatever item that is deemed okay to place the remains in...
Back to the metal implants families usually want it back bc they were making payments...it's worth money...also some companies ask if they can have it back

My dad broke his back and had this. It completely ruined his life.

I've seen these screws going onto ppls bones (xray tech student) it really freaks me out how big they are, literally like watching someone repair a deck. Plus, I've taken many x rays of people in extreme back pain just to see they have multiple screws in their vertebrae. My heart and prayers go out to anyone who has/needs this.

My lumbar screws broke after my first surgery do to the dr not planting an artificial disk in my spine from the front of my body. My back was so unstable that the pressure broke 4 titanium screws. I was in agonizing pain for over a year at the age of 22. I had a revision surgery by a neurologist at UCSF who is a master at spinal deformity’s and revision surgery’s. I still have the tips of the broken screws still in my spine because bone had grew around them. My spine is slipping where the spine meets the pelvis and it’s inoperable so my screws I have no in my lumbar and pelvis keep it from paralyzing me. They can break and they do if you don’t have a confident and experienced surgeon

Yeah. This is why I find it hard to trust a doctor more than I trust the local mechanic when he tells me my car needs a new motor.

I've got multiple joint replacements where my surgeons have used titanium and my hip replacement is made out of ceramic. And my ceramic hip is supposed to last for about 30 years all being well
