I grew up around the Dutch German border. At some point I went to school and sport in the Netherlands while living in a Germany village close to the border.

The border never felt "real" to me growing up. Yeah I noticed the differences in road signage, architecture, but i crossed it about 4 times a day 5 days a week for years!

The idea of it being a hard border, here in the first Euregio is *alien*

So much so that the local governments of the Eurgio managed to keep it open even during the early pandemic knee-jerk reaction border closings across Europe!!

I am firstly European, then Twents, then Dutch. Thank you Schengen!

both the UK-Ireland border and the Nordic Countries already had open borders for decades by the time that Schengen came along

maybe if romanians would make a law to give one kidney each to austrians and Dutch people, maybe they'l start to think about letting us in to something we're obliged by treaty to join

Your channel is so informative!! Sadly EU has to transform and people mentality as well because we can’t continue to divide us, EU citizens as second and first class people.

Oh yeah we know, the rich boys' club doesn't want Bulgaria and Romania in there, so we'll continue waiting for hours on end

Everyone hates EU blaming for LGBT rights, being to leftists, tolerating too many migrants, depending too much on Russia and China, but in reality, everyone wants to live here, 🇪🇺

Italy wasn't part of it in the beginning?

It definitely was reasonable, and removing it is why the gun, drug and human trafficking smuggling is so easy inside europe nowdays. All guns in sweden is from albania for example. Just drive from greece to sweden and sell your goods

It is stupid to let people into your country without checking who they are; I went to germany not too long ago to buy cigars, the only time i needed my passport was at the shop where i bought them. It is easier to go into a foreign country, than to buy tobacco in a foreign country, it should not be so. If anyone can get into your country, anyone will, even the people you don't want to, all while giving up sovereignty of your own country to the Germans . At least the Germans had to fire a few shots in 1940.

I hope the norwegian borders will be closed someday, then we will have more control on who is comming in and who is comming out, in case someone are wanted by interpol, in case someone are under investigation and trying to leave

To this day we take random samples of random travelers, but if you get face-to-face contact with everyone going in and out, you can reveal several nervous faces, and you can see if the passports are real or fake, you can ask what their intentions are they have. I don't mean that we should check the luggage of all arrivals, but I think we can have an easier overview and can stop more people than we currently do.

I recently told someone I know that I am against Schengen, I was immediately called a racist, I don't understand what racism has to do with being against Schengen? I am positive about immigration, and I also believe that Norway needs immigrants, I want strict border control so that we can have an easier overview of who is in the country, who is out of the country, and what is brought into the country of luggage

Strict border control is not based from my side on non-western immigration, it is based on controlling everything of papers and ask questions, and yes, even WESTERN tourists, business travelers

I vote for the Norwegian Center Party. They are strong opponents of Schengen, the EU, the EEA and the Nordic passport union, but at the same time they are a pro-immigration party, they just want control of the borders

I hope Schengen and EU will collaps forever

The constant (and inconsistent) change of reading direction isn't ideal, especially not at this video speed.
While it looks fancy it's making the video less user friendly.
