The thing i love most about this song is how it literaaly does and says NOTHING offensive, its like someone drew a line in the sand and this guy is just effortlessly dancing around the line

The lyrical use of the turn is very nice here. He uses the day of the week to not spoil anything, and the phrase "Until Mohammad burst into the office" is actually a rather mundane expression, like the dramatic start of a story. Until the very next line that slams down the twist. Even if we know its coming, the use of the structure makes it..."funny"? A show of how Tom is actually a lyricist and writer by trade.

Fun fact about this: Many interviewers asked about the time inaccuracy with the song, being changed from 8:46 to 8:45. Tomska has exclaimed that the inaccuracy was in fact on purpose and was done to "make it rhyme better."

I love how songs like this like Variations on a Cloud by Miracle Musical/Tally Hall are very subtle on their 9/11 meaning but Tom is just "fuck it, let's just get straight to the point"

I can't get over "The worker bees at MarshMcLennan were in the hive" It's such a deep cut that most American's probably wouldn't even know what you're referring too, but it's probably the most grim reference in the song.
